Business Grade Fibre Optics Comes to Trail
The Trail and District Chamber of Commerce, as part of the Trail Broadband Committee, is pleased to inform the merchants of downtown Trail that applications for fibre optic service within the current service area are now being accepted by the City of Trail. The application must be signed by the applicant and property owner prior to March 31, 2014 to receive the connection at no charge. Late submissions will incur installation fees based on distance and accessibility. The current average estimated cost to run fibre from utility pole to the building demarcation is $1,500. Business owners in downtown Trail who do not own their building must contact their landlord to obtain written consent. Further details and applications for service can be found on the City of Trail website: Click here
About the Trail Broadband Committee.
The Trail Broadband Committee (TBC) formed in October 2013 and consists of downtown Trail business owners and economic development advocates. As a committee our goal is to inform, educate and encourage all downtown business owners to explore how their business can benefit from Trail’s new communications infrastructure. A second committee goal is to aid in attracting new technology firms to Trail.
