Continuing your journey, visit The Doorway in downtown Trail. This trendy local shopping destination carries a unique selection of home decor, candles, and thoughtfully curated gifts. Their mission extends beyond craftsmanship—they’re also revitalizing a historic downtown building at 1148 Bay Avenue to expand operations and contribute to the community’s renewal. Last, but certainly not least, Kootenay Made Co. located at Waneta Plaza showcases the talent of over one hundred Kootenay artisans! Two time Emerging Entrepreneur winner Leanne Hawkins opened her business in 2021 with two main goals in mind: to make choosing local convenient and easier for our community and to provide a space for artisans, creators, artists, entrepreneurs, and makers to sell their items.
“Local artists tell stories of our community and why we choose to live here,” Leanne shares.
Kootenay Made Co showcases and supports products that are skillfully made in the most beautiful area in the world. Shoppers are drawn to the friendly atmosphere and exceptional variety, finding inspiration in every corner.
